Today was all about stories that should shock no one, but somehow, the press made it seem like they should. We assume pushing readership and anger is more important than accuracy or integrity.
First, Weiner’s laptop was once again a “thing” as it was reported by Judicial Watch that more emails were recovered from his laptop containing potential classified information. It is noted by the court papers that a significant amount of the documents may be duplicates. That didn’t stop Judge Napolitano on Fox from saying that the information could lead to indictment, when realistically if nothing has happened to Hillary or Huma yet, nothing will.
Also, we learned more about the Uranium something burger. This seems like it might actually be important. As Fox News reports, the Clintons and Obama may have known about serious conflicts of interest, including “donations” into the Clinton foundation prior to the closing of the Uranium One deal:
A top Senate Republican is probing potential “conflicts of interest” for Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration regarding the 2010 approval of a controversial uranium deal with a Russian company, amid new details about donations from “interested parties” and an FBI corruption probe involving employees of the same Russian firm.
“This committee has an obligation to get to the bottom of this issue,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said Wednesday, at the start of a hearing with Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The Hill reported a day earlier that the FBI had evidence as early as 2009 that Russian operatives used bribes, kickbacks and other dirty tactics to expand Moscow’s atomic energy footprint in the U.S. — but the Obama administration approved the uranium deal benefiting Moscow anyway.
We will see if this ends up being the straw that broke the Clinton’s back. We are highly skeptical but this definitely looks bad.
Finally we found out Trump isn’t Abraham Lincoln sending a letter to Mrs. Bixby and that leftists hate him no matter what he says. We are sure both are shocking revelations for everyone on both sides of the political spectrum. Trump somehow managed to have a conversation with the wife of a fallen soldier who died in an ambush in Niger in front of a Congresswoman who has openly discussed Trump’s impeachment and is a rabid Trump opponent. Not a good start for an unbiased take on Trump’s words. While we believe Trump is a talking dumpster fire at all times when speaking off the cuff, we find very little evidence being advanced from the Congresswoman or the soldier’s widow showing Trump was in fact disrespectful. Trump is boorish and stupid but he does seem to hold soldiers in the highest regard. Maybe it’s an act? Who knows. Our guess is that if you hate Trump you find his words blatantly disrespectful. If you have no feelings on Trump you just think it’s just another gaffe. If you love Trump you think he said nothing wrong. Maybe we will get more detail. For now, this story is an utter waste of time.
